The massive building occupying an entire block at 150 East 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan was completed in 1952. John B. Peterkin designed the original plans for the building following the 1916 Zoning Resolution in New York City. Then, in 1952, architects Harrison & Abramovitz became involved in the project and designed the property in the International and Moderne styles.
Developed as a speculative project by Peter B. Ruddin for the prominent Goelet family, the building, also known as the Socony-Mobil Building, is a NYC landmark.
